Managing your online reputation

What online reputation covers

Your online reputation is the image conveyed by everything that exists about you online: customer reviews, mentions on social media, search results for your name. This image directly influences a prospect's decision, often before any contact.

The good news is that it's built and maintained. You're not a passive spectator: your actions weigh on what people find.

Monitoring what's being said

You can only manage well what you observe. Get into the habit of regularly checking:

• The results when someone types your business name into Google.
• The reviews left on your Google profile and your sector's platforms.
• Mentions and comments on your social media.

An alert on your name lets you be notified without watching constantly.

Reacting calmly and methodically

Faced with a negative review, never react in the heat of the moment. Respond politely, acknowledge what needs acknowledging and offer a solution. A composed response to criticism often impresses more than a perfect review.

Also encourage your satisfied customers to leave a review: it's the best way to balance the rare negative feedback. A solid online reputation is built over time, through consistency. Skywebis can help you structure this presence and keep it under control.
